New formats for the next generation

Rookies Events Every Day

At the iXS Dirt Masters Festival there have always been events for the next generation. But this season this trend will be expanded again and so there are now daily competitions, from downhill, enduro and fourcross to dirt jump for the youngsters.

PROPAIN Rookies Cup | VPACE Kids Cup

In the past, the standard phrase in the festival's daily review was that the first day is traditionally dedicated to the rookies. And yes, that won't be entirely wrong this time either, because after all the VPACE Kids Cup and the PROPAIN Rookies Cup will take place on Thursday. More than 300 young athletes, aged from 5 years upwards, will participate in races in downhill format, which is quite remarkable.

Orbea Rookies Enduro Challenge

But this year the program for the young guns doesn't stop there, because on the other days there will also be competitions where the rookies can once again go fast or show remarkable style.

On Friday there will be the Orbea Rookies Enduro Challenge. According to the format Enduro, it starts from the start/finish area in smaller guided groups on the track. After a few kilometers with not too many meters of altitude, there will be two stages on the program, which can be ridden twice. In between, the lift will take you comfortably to the top. About two or three hours later, everyone will be back at the finish line to hand in their transponders and to get the results.

BMO 4X Rumble

On Saturday, a completely different discipline will follow. Here, the BMO 4X Rumble is on the agenda. And even though the 4X ProTour is one of the highest racing series in the world, consideration will be given to the next generation. The Rookies classes are offered here on a regular basis, so that an exciting competition is also available for younger riders in head-to-head mode.

VPACE Rookies Jam

And then there's the topic of style - for some perhaps even the most important thing in general - but at this point we mean style in jumping. The VPACE Rookies Jam is a format that focuses on two types of jumping. One is about whip off and one is about dirt jump. On Sunday, both will be tried on a jump at the Jumpline until there is a small jam at the end where everyone can show what they are capable of. This format is an absolute novelty, which the rookies have absolutely earned. And what better place to do it than at the iXS Dirt Masters.
